Does brain training work?...

Did anyone watch the brain training results program on BBC the other day?

A program called bang goes the theory did a test that suggested that brain training doesn't improve your ability generally but that you do get better at the actual puzzle itself.

I think that is what common sense would suggest: as I can't see why doing sudoku would make you better at shape and space puzzles but clearly you would get better at sudoku!

I know this is an old post but I wanted to pick up on it because I'm confused about brain training.

Does it work or doesn't it work?! Every article I read seems to make a different conclusion as to whether brain training helps you, makes you worse, will send you to an early grave LOL or just makes no difference at all!
