Does anyone else do Skyscraper puzzles? These are one of my favourite puzzle types at the moment, and I would love a magazine full of them at some point, if it was practical. Just a thought!

Skyscraper sudoku sounds like an interesting sort of puzzle.
What does that involve, I can't quite imagine because it sounds like buildings or something but obviously that can't be the case! Does it use letters instead of numbers perhaps?

This is certainly something we can look to add.
Skyscraper sudoku are another of those many variants that hardly ever appear in print and hence very few people will have ever encountered them; so I suspect that the total number of downloads would be about one but that's no reason not to add it to the selection to make an even more comprehensive range of sudoku variants
Incidentally you can get printable skyscraper puzzles at the Puzzle Club. They are 6x6 puzzles I suspect however you may well want 9x9s!

(other printable puzzles in PDF format include arrow words, shikaku, samurai sudoku, bridges and a printable puzzle of the day with fillomino, hanjie etc etc)

Angela, if you follow the link in Puzzlemags post above, you can have a look at Skyscrapers on there - there is a sample puzzle with all the rules given.
Puzzlemags, pleased to see you are not ruling out entirely the possibility of a mag at some point even though you are not expecting many downloads! I am fairly new to Skyscrapers so certainly wouldn't be averse to doing the 6 x 6s on your other site! Just as a matter of curiosity are the ABC puzzles on there the same as in the magazine on here or are they a different selection? I am probably wrong but imagine there must be a limited number of such puzzles you can produce with a fairly small grid?
I did used to be a member of your other site quite sime time ago, but let my subscription lapse - might be time to think about rejoining!

Hi Christine
Yes, the puzzles in the ABC selection will be different as far as I'm aware. However I'm not 100% sure, so if you were to sign up and they're not we can always send you a separate new collection of the same amount at no additional cost.
In terms of how many different ABC puzzles there are, it's an interesting question and not one I had thought about before - you're right that there are a limited set of puzzles. No idea how many in total, perhaps some mathematician somewhere has calculated the answer like they have with sudoku, as there are quite a few combinations of filled grids that can't lead to one unique solution at least with the standard ruleset.
