Not been here for a few weeks so good to see that there are some interesting puzzle related conversations here, I will definitely check out some of the puzzles mentioned in the posts that I've not come across previously!
Another of the puzzles that I enjoy is one that is usually called Mosaic.
The way this one works is that you have a grid which can be of any size, but is always rectangular or square.
The grid contains lots of numbers, though some of the squares do not contain any numbers at all.
The aim of the mosaic is to work out whether each square in the grid should be shaded in or not. At the end of the puzzle every square is either shaded or must be blank. As a further piece of interest, the shaded cells reveal an image in black and white is great fun!
It is a bit like the minesweeper game in that the numbers tell you how many squares around the number are to be shaded, however unlike in minesweeper the square that contains the number itself may be shaded as well as touching horizontal, vertical and diagonal squares. This means that the highest number is 9, the lowest number of course is 0.
It's great fun but pretty hard to come across: could we have some mosaic puzzles on here please?
